This past long weekend I went on a road trip with Evan, Andrew and Adam to visit my sister-in-law and cousin who both live in Montreal! We had a fantastic time despite the twelve hours it took to get there, and the beyond freezing temperatures. Montreal is a very fascinating city, I wish I could spend more than a few days there next time I go. Here are a few pictures and highlights from our trip:
We explored Old Montreal on the first day. It was so cold that we had to take breaks every fifteen minutes in order to be able to keep walking. This wasn't my first time seeing Old Montreal, but there are so many beautiful buildings and streets I just couldn't get enough. We also made a point of getting Montreal bagels, and also scouting out a local doughnut shop. At Chez Boris, they deep fry the doughnuts right in front of you and my husband was in #evanheaven because he is literally obsessed with doughnuts. If you are in Montreal soon, go to Chez Boris, it is very worth it!
A few of our friends from Western have recently moved to Montreal and it was great to catch up with them. Yuan and Lukas Stevens have the cutest and most wonderfully decorated apartment. They made a small space seem huge and we were treated to homemade pizza by Lukas. I was happy to hear that I am not the only wife who cooks less than her husband. Catching up with Leanne was a big highlight as well, it's nice to have a friend who is so in touch with her feelings. I have always looked up to her and am thankful for her thoughtfulness and realness with people.
Spending time with Evan's siblings and cousins is always a blast. They are so great at including me in their jokes and...well jokes is what they seem to be all about - kidding- but I appreciate these new friends in my life and I love seeing how they support each other and care for one another in a real way. Grace was an awesome host, she agreed to have all of us there when she was in the middle of shows, rehearsals, and midterms. Thanks Grace for having us!
Shout out to Adam Gellman for driving the crazy 12 hours to Montreal-what a memorable trip it was. I'm thinking we should go again when the temperature is above zero :)
